PostHeaderIcon Errr… Drugs

Damn medications keep getting more expensive these days. Now I’m not quiet to the age where I’m retiring yet, but it is looking concerning in general. Not only are the expensive of being old going up, but the income is going down. Government help seems to be getting thinner and thinner with little chance of it even existing for the masses soon. Hopefully, I’ll be better off then most folks will be by that time barring any major problems but it’s still disheartening to think about at times.

Hopefully, the next generation will have an easier time of getting old. Surely, they’ll have their generation issues with the next group after them but they’ll have learned to save and be more independent then the Boomers that were ahead of them. Instead of spending all there time chasing and spending the dollar, they should be saving it and diversifing it. They should be better off for it.

PostHeaderIcon Things Not To Do While Young…

So I’ve spent many years being young and stupid. I’m sure many others have as well as it’s something others generally experience as well. It’s hard to truely regret anything you’ve done in the past if it was a positive experience; playing football, ski trips with the family, and other adventures that simply take a toll on the body after awhile.

It’s easy to look back and notice things that have had a lasting effect on your body or mental well being. Doing stupid selfish things like skipping a nice family reunion or other event can be very damaging. Make sure to call you family members and friends regularly. Let me put it this way without getting to personal, sometimes you never know if it will be the last time your talking to someone.

Body wise it’s really to mess stuff up. I did construction for many years and, while I’m more of the designer/planner, I spent many years as a grunt man. Now as a grunt you do everything from lifting and carrying things all over the place and to hammering in nails. There is of course, the inherent dangers of construction too. But while most my accidents or other work related problems will lead to funny stories to tell the grandkids and share with old pals some aren’t as nice. Herniated disc, anyone? Messed up backs are lovely.

I mentioned sports and stuff earlier as well and that can cause problems down the line. Wouldn’t have traded the experience for the world though even know but I can still nearly predict the weather with my right knee. Again a funny story for the grandkids!

PostHeaderIcon Getting an Adjustable Bed

At some point in the very near future I’m going to be investing in an adjustable bed of some sort at the recommendation of my doctor. See, my back has been killing me as of late. Really, I’ve had problems forever but it’s been particularly bad as of late. So I’m officially in the market for a new adjustable bed.

Been looking at all my options for one as there are a number of brands to choice from. Many of them have lovely ads on TV and the internet trying to sell me so it can be difficult getting an unbiased opinion. Luckily a number of guides exist online and plenty of opinions on Amazon and the like. It’s good that there is atleast some unfiltered info out there. Anyway, I particularly looking at a memory foam mattress in the ballpark of Tempur-Pedic. They seem to have one of the better reputations out there while not being the most expensive to boot. Other companies are a painĀ  in the butt to get their current prices, features and other info. The give you the run around to buy the product and simply give them your credit card. I sure it’s because adjustable beds prices are so high.

Hopefully, this thing can bring some relieve from my back. It can be quiet painful or at least uncomfortable to do anything with this kind of persistant problem going on all the time. Really annoying!
